My Travel Memoir:
Catfish and Mandala: A Two-Wheeled Voyage Across the Landscape
and Memory of Vietnam, (Hardcover, FSG, 1999; Paperback,
Picador, 2000; ISBN-10: 0312267177). After three years of struggling
as starving writer, I set out for an adventure on a $250 bicycle,
a year of riding in four countries. The book deals with family issues,
identity, and reconciliation.
My Father’s Life:
The Eaves of Heaven: A Life in Three Wars, (Hardcover,
Harmony, Random House, June 2008; ISBN-10: 030738120X). This book
was conceived from years of talking and emailing with my father about
his life and early childhood. I felt that it was important to preserved
the views and experiences of his generation.
Translation:
Last Night I Dreamed of Peace: The Diary of Thuy Dang Tram,
by Dr. Thuy Dang Tram, translation by Andrew X. Pham and Thong V.
Pham, (Hardcover, Harmony, Random House, Sept. 2007; ISBN-10: 0307347370).
A gorgeous, strange, noble, and heart-wrenching diary. I’ve
shed more than a few tears while translating it.
